Buttock augmentation refers to any procedure which increases the volume and fullness of the buttock area. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways. One technique involves inserting an implant. Another technique involves transferring fat into the buttocks. Both of these techniques are widely used. The technique that is best for you can only be determined after a thorough consultation is completed.

Implant

Buttock augmentation can be accomplished using an implant. The implants come in a variety of sizes and shapes to best fit your body. The implants are inserted through an incision made in the buttock crease. Special care is needed to allow proper healing. A discussion of all the details of the surgery will be conducted during your consultation.

Fat Transfer

This is also called a "Brazilian Butt Lift." It involves harvesting your own fat and carefully preparing it. Once the fat is ready, it is carefully injected into the buttocks to achieve fullness and a beautiful shape. This is my preferred method of buttock augmentation. Fat transfer has the advantage of using your own tissue for the augmentation instead of using a foreign object like an implant. The details of this operation are discussed with you during the consultation.

Results

The patient below requested augmentation of her buttock area. After a thorough discussion, we agreed that fat transfer was the best option for her. I performed liposuction of her abdomen in order to harvest the fat. I also performed liposuction of her waist and her thighs in order to create a better contour of her body. I then transferred (grafted) the fat into each buttock. This is done carefully and precisely to ensure that the fat is injected into the exact areas needed for a beautiful and full shape. As you can see in the "After" pictures, she has a dramatic increase in the fullness of her buttocks from all angles. In addition, the shape of the buttocks is improved. This is a result of the combination of the liposuction and the fat grafting. Her buttock is now full and has a beautiful shape using only her own natural tissues.
